At Trovata, keeping your data safe is our highest priority. As part of our continued efforts to maintain the highest security standards, we’re introducing an important update to our Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) requirements.
What’s Changing?
Starting April 7, 2025, all new users will be required to set up MFA during their first login.
Existing users can enable MFA by navigating to Settings and clicking “Activate” under the “Multi-Factor Authentication” section.
By May 2, 2025, MFA will be mandatory for all existing users.
Users who haven’t set up MFA by that date will be prompted to do so upon their next login.
**Good news! If you already have MFA or SSO enabled, there’s nothing you need to do — you’re all set! 🎉**
Why This Matters
MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring users to verify their identity using a second step, such as a code from their mobile device, in addition to their password. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, helping to protect your sensitive data and account activity. Enabling MFA is one of the most effective ways to protect your organization and ensure that only authorized users can access your instance. By making MFA a requirement, we’re taking a proactive step to help safeguard your business.
If you have any questions or issues setting up MFA, please reach out to our customer support team at support@trovata.io .
Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Before you get started, make sure to download an authenticator app to your mobile device. We recommend using Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
Navigate to the Settings page by clicking your company name (located in the bottom left corner of the screen)
Click the "Activate" button at the bottom under the "Multi-Factor Authentication" section, then confirm by clicking "Activate" again.
Follow the instructions by scanning the QR code on your preferred authenticator app, enter the one-time code, then click Continue
Copy the recovery code somewhere safe, click the checkbox, then click Continue. Note: You will need this code to log in without your authenticator device
Troubleshooting MFA
If you run into any issues with your MFA experience, please send an email to support@trovata.io or message us in the app.
