We’ve converted the naming conventions of our legacy Account Groups, used to label and report on various slices of accounts to avoid confusion with the new Entity level references found in the Entities module.

The new naming conventions for our legacy Account Groups are below:

  • Legacy Account Group for “Entity” → “Entity (legacy)”

  • Legacy Account Group for “Region” → “Region (legacy)”

  • Legacy Account Group for “Division” → “Division (legacy)”

These now act as Custom Fields that can be used to segment your accounts, despite retaining the names Entity (Legacy), Region (Legacy), and Division (Legacy). The names of these three fields cannot be changed at this time.

Creating Account Groups

  1. Navigate to the Groups page in the sidebar

  2. In the "Add Entity (Legacy)", "Add Region (Legacy)", or "Add Division (Legacy)" box, type the name of the grouping ID you'd like to use. Example: Users can use the Division (Legacy) custom field to make two selections that identify type of cash, "Restricted Cash" and "Non-Restricted Cash"

  3. Click the Plus Sign (+) to create the Account Group

Deleting Accounts Groups

  1. Navigate to the Groups page in the sidebar

  2. Under the Entity (Legacy), Region (Legacy), or Division (Legacy) columns, hover over the respective grouping ID that you'd like to delete

  3. Click the Minus Sign (-) to delete the Account Group

Note: If the deleted Account Group doesn't disappear from the list immediately after deleting it, please try refreshing your browser.
