Overview

The best place to spot these discrepancies is the Reconciliation module in Trovata or via the AI Insights Data Integrity snapshot. Open the Daily View, set the Items Reconciled menu to Accounts, and look for a red X instead of a green checkmark on the affected date — that's Trovata flagging that the day's change in balance doesn't match the net transaction activity (credits + debits) for that account. Start there before you reach out; it will surface missing, duplicate, or mismatched data faster than reviewing transactions or balances one by one.

The faster and more specific the details you share, the faster we can resolve the issue — most investigations start with a bank, an account, and a date range.

Missing Transactions

What to look for: You may also notice a transaction you can see in your bank's own portal or statement doesn't appear in Trovata, or an account shows fewer transactions than expected for a given date range.

What we'll need from you:

  • The date range for the missing data (start and end)

  • The specific bank(s)

  • The specific account(s)

  • The specific transaction(s) that are missing

Duplicate Transactions

What to look for: You may find the same transaction appears more than once in Trovata for the same account and date.

What we'll need from you:

  • The date range for the duplicate data (start and end)

  • The specific bank(s)

  • The specific account(s)

  • The specific transaction(s) that are duplicated

Transactions with an Incorrect Amount

What to look for: An amount or detail error with a transaction that differs compared to your bank's records.

What we'll need from you:

  • The date range for the affected data (start and end)

  • The specific bank(s)

  • The specific account(s)

  • The specific transaction(s) affected, and what the correct amount or details should be

Missing Balances

What to look for: A specific date may be missing a balance entirely, or the balance shown in Trovata doesn't match your bank statement.

What we'll need from you:

  • The date range for the missing data (start and end)

  • The specific bank(s)

  • The specific account(s)

  • What the correct balance(s) should be

Working with Our Team

Once you have the details above, send them to us through the chat in the bottom-right corner of Trovata. Include as much specificity as you can — the exact dates, banks, and accounts involved make the difference between a same-day answer and a multi-day back-and-forth.

From there, our support team will investigate against your bank connection and follow up directly with what we find and, where needed, next steps to get your data corrected.
